We went for Drew's two year well visit this morning. It is always an adventure for us to go to the doctor when he is very healthy because he is so full of energy.
Height : 33.25 inches
Weight : 21.5 lbs
Head circumference : 46
Clothing : size 6-9 month pants, 12-18 month shirts, and size 6 shoes
Physical milestones : at 3 year old level (jumps on one foot, hangs and swings, and can dress self; fine motor skills like opening toothpaste tube)
Language milestones : at 2 year old boy level (40-50 words and 2-3 word sentences)
Mental milestones : still doesn't know colors or numbers, but can identify almost all vehicles on the road and some animals.
Eyes, ears, and mouth all look great. He shouldn't inherit AJ's color blindness, but we can check later.
Overall, he is extremely healthy. He is still very tiny, but pediatrician thinks if he ever grows into his feet he will be a fairly tall boy. Thankfully, even though he is still extremely skinny he is still on his personal growth curve. She isn't worried about it. Yay! That was my big concern going into the appointment.
He is almost tall enough to ride a few new rides at the theme parks. I know that will make him very happy when he hits that point. AJ jokes we need some thicker soled shoes to make that bit of a boost.
He is still extremely energetic and doesn't believe in sleep. He is still very strong willed, but I am thankful he is starting to talk enough to communicate what he wants. We have been having some power struggles and I has been a learning curve on how to handle them. The pediatrician recommended sticking to our boundaries and being flexible with everything else.
He is in love with cars ( or any type of vehicle) this age. He loves Barney, trains, and Fireman Sam. He is so much fun to play with and has the best excited laughter. I love watching him think things through. You can almost see the gears turning in his head. He can be such a sweet thing.
