Meet and Greet Monday - The Florida Gators

Saturday AJ, his mom, and I went to the Orange and Blue game. It is the spring training/ exhibition game for the Florida Gators. This game isn't a regular game by any means. They do all kinds of fun things like the student races and catching punts. Also, the coaches are on the field the whole game and there is no "get back coach" saying to the players, "Get back behind the lines." So all in all it is a great way for fans to come out and enjoy semi-football during the Spring. The other great thing is that it is free for students and only $5 for everyone else. So people who can't normally go to the games get a chance to go the The Swamp. Also, our local power company was one of the giant sponsors and in our last bill they sent 2 for 1 coupons, so AJ's mom and I both got in for $5. YAY!!!

This was an hour before the game. Notice all the people in the stands across the way. The stadium holds 93,000... Saturday there was a turn out of 64,000. Needless to say, Gator fans turn out for even the minor things. It was really hot and really sunny, but there was a great crowd.

Though AJ didn't actually get to run, he got his name up on the big score board for being in the top 24. The football player that AJ would have ran against ran a 4.21. YIKES! That is fast.

AJ's mom at the game.

One of my good friend's little boy. It was his first game. She is doing well starting him out as a baby Gator.

The unveiling of the Tebow plaque on the wall of fame inside The Swamp. He is up there with only two other people - Steve Spurrier and Danny Wuerffel. Our other two Heisman winners.

Tebow's Heisman Trophy.

The National Championship Trophy. Isn't is pretty?

All in all The Orange and Blue game was a blast. The Blue team won (YAY almuni side!) I am going to miss living in Gainesville for things like this. Hopefully, we will be able to get tickets to games to come back to every once in awhile.
